Movimento + Inclusão (Movement + Inclusion) brings cause awareness to the cause for hundreds of people
The Movement + Inclusion is an initiative ofThales Group, company, in partnership with ASID Brasil, and proposes a week of awareness for employees regarding the people with disabilities cause.
For this purpose, the movement is divided into three main actions: Campaign, Roda da Conversa “Quintal de Casa” (Conversation Wheel “House Yard”) and Workshop “Diferenças que constroem” (The differences that build).
The actions details, as well as the numbers reached and impact are reported below.
The campaign took place during the four days of Movement + Inclusion. With the purpose of bringing information and raising awareness for Thales company employees about the cause of people with disabilities (PwD) through banners, booklets, posters and emails.
- PwD rights: on 11/11 and 11/12 were disclosed what are the rights of PwD before the law and some important data about the cause; and
- Good Practices: on 13/11 and 14/11, employees had access to information on Good Practices to be carried out with PwD.
Through these materials, employees learned about the cause of people with disabilities and learned how to deal with situations in their routine, whether in the inclusion of PwD at work or in their daily lives.
Conversation Wheel: House Yard
The Conversation Wheel aimed at bringing employees of the company closer to the cause of people with disabilities, for this reason, the opportunity to invite co-workers with disabilities to share their stories and experiences was identified.
Called “House Yard”, five employees with disabilities were invited to participate in a Conversation Wheel. The moment was promoted by Amanda Lyraalso PwD, who addressed questions to guests regarding the discovery of disability, the relationship with the family, the achievements of each one and the barriers encountered in society.
The spectators were also able to participate: in addition to clarifying doubts with the PwD, they were also invited to report what it was like to work with each of the employees who were ahead.
The moment brought reflection to everyone and made it even more clear that respect is essential.
Workshop Differences that Build
Looking to address the issue of PwD inclusion in society, passing through the understanding of diversity and the responsibility of each one to promote inclusive practices, another action of Movement + Inclusion was the Workshop “Differences that Build”.
With a selected audience of leaders and managers, the moment started with a contextualization about diversity and privileges, highlighting data from PwD in Brazil. Following, two dynamics were performed:
- The first is called “Myths and Truths”, where participants are invited to discuss questions and answers about common issues surrounding the cause.
- The second dynamic is called “Sensory Coffee”. In it, each participant experiences a disability, and may empathetically reflect the experience of being a people with a disability.
The activity ended with a round of conversation aimed in bringing an exchange of perceptions and emphasizing the presence of barriers - which prevent the PwD from having a full participation in society.

Through the Campaign, employees had access to information that is often unknown about the cause of people with disabilities. As a result, contact with disclosures and information raised the awareness of employees, making them more inclusive both at work and in their social routine, understanding the differences and potential of each one.

Actions like this promote high awareness among employees, knowing more about people with disabilities cause and then making them more inclusive in the labor market and other routines.
Through the House Yard and Workshop, managers have the opportunity to get closer to employees with disabilities, knowing their visions and realities. Thus, they make their teams more inclusive, generating greater diversity, better teamwork and innovation.
